In line with the Advanced Certificate Course in English commenced by English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) of Southern Campus, KDU, a 3-day in-service training programme for the academic staff of ELTU was conducted under the patronage of Dr. Bimali Indrarathne, Lecturer in Applied Linguistics, Department of Education, University of York, York, England and Major Wimansha Abeyawickrama, Senior Lecturer, Department of Languages, Faculty of Management Social Sciences and Humanities, KDU, Rathmalana. This turned out to be an enlightening training session which exposed participants to the trending novelties of the subject field. It is worth noting that an invaluable donation of stationeries worth thousands of rupees was made by Dr. Bimali Indrarathne to be utilized for the language improvement undertakings of students of English Language Programmes of the campus, following the training programme.
