The Department of Quantity Surveying, the Faculty of Built Environment and Spatial Sciences of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University has been relentlessly working to secure the (IQSSL) Institute of Quantity Surveyors Sri Lanka, accreditation for its Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Quantity Surveying. IQSSL is the sole recognized Quantity Surveying (QS) Professional body in Sri Lanka administering the standards for degree programmes in Quantity Surveying.
It is with a greater pleasure; it is informed that the (Honours) Degree in Quantity Surveying was granted the conditional accreditation by the Institute of Quantity Surveyors Sri Lanka by reference IQSSL/COUNCIL/01/2022/0929 dated 16th June 2022. This is a greater achievement in the history of the faculty as this is the first professional recognition to be obtained to one of its degree programmes.
The entire Department and its academia, led by the Head of the Department, has been striving hard throughout year to secure this goal. The faculty wishes to convey its sincere thanks for the dignitaries of IQSSL including its President, Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary and the Council Members. With the IQSSL recognition, the BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying graduates of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University will be recognized worldwide and among all the leading employers/stakeholders in the field of construction with higher perks and due professional status.
