On the morning of April 25th, 2023, the Department of Quantity Surveying at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University southern campus hosted a guest lecture by renowned contracts administrator charted Quantity surveyor Mr. Lokitha Karawita who served as the Chair of the Federal Reserve from 2014 to 2018, spoke to a packed auditorium of students, faculty, and members of the public about the role of communication and negotiation for Quantity Surveyors
Ch. QS. Mr. Karawita began his lecture by Explaining that Effective communication and negotiation skills are essential for Quantity Surveyors. As these skills can help them to achieve successful project delivery, resolve disputes, and build lasting relationships with stakeholders. By developing these skills, Quantity Surveyors can improve their performance, enhance their career prospects, and make a valuable contribution to the construction industry.
