A guest lecture on Innovative Clay Products was conducted by the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Built Environment and Spatial Sciences, KDU-Southern campus on 28th of April 2023 from 09 am at FBESS – Board room. The lecture was focused to introduce innovative clay products to students of all the intakes and staff members of the Department of Architecture. Mr. Wipul Kulararathna, B.Sc. Hons (Eng.) UOM, Diploma in Quality Management, Six Sigma Green Belt, PGDM, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor was the guest speaker for the session, who is the General Manager of Samson Rajarata Tiles. Further he serves as the President of Sri Lanka Association for the advancement of Quality & Productivity, Secretary of Sri Lanka Ceramic and Glass Council, and Chairman of Ceramics & Mineral Based Advisory Committee- Export Development Board of Sri Lanka. Lecture was organized and coordinated by Archt. Associate Professor Dr. M Nishan Rasanga Wijetunge with the support of Mr. Asoka De Silva from Rajarata Tiles, Dr. AH Lakmal – Dean, Faculty of Built Environment and Spatial Sciences and Archt. MLNH Premarathna – Head, Department of Architecture. A successful and innovative session was concluded with the presence of Dr. AH Lakmal – Dean, Faculty of Built Environment and Spatial Sciences, and a token of appreciation was presented to Mr. Wipul Kulararathna for his invaluable contribution.
