Women play a vital role in many sectors, although the construction industry has relatively less women in the workforce than other sectors, those involved love and revere their job. The Department of Quantity Surveying was honoured and humbled to have a pioneer and a living legend grace the third lecture on “Women’s Contribution in the Construction Industry for a Sustainable Tomorrow” in the guest lecture series. Professor Chitra Weddikkara, a lady of immense talent and expertise, shared her views and knowledge. It was held on the 8th of March coinciding with the International Women’s Day at the Southern Campus KDU Auditorium and simultaneously, via Zoom. The event turned out to be a resourceful opportunity for all undergraduates, academics and other external parties who were in attendance.
