The Intake 37 Surveying Sciences undergraduates of the Department of Spatial Sciences underwent a programme on Hydrographic Data Collection and Processing under Naval Wing of the National Hydrographic Service from 08th to 13th May 2023 as a partial fulfillment of the course module Ocean Mapping. The data collection was conducted at Dikkowita Fisheries Harbor, which was comprised with the Coastline Survey, Building Area Data Collection in the port area, Tide Monitoring and Sounding Data Collection. The data processing and visualization was conducted at the Naval Wing of National Hydrographic Office, National Aquatic and Research Authority (NARA), Mattakkuliya. In this period the undergraduates were able to get real experience in using the Hydrographic Survey Instruments such as Single Beam Eco Sounder, Side Scan Sonar and Sound Velocity Profiler.
