QUALIT Y JANUARY 2024
Any specific suggestions you have to
Q8Q8 make more aware of the quality and
productivity of people in Sri Lanka?
We can change the attitudes of people by fostering a
cultural shift towards values that emphasize hard work,
innovation, responsibility, and continuous learning.
This can be done through education and awareness
campaigns that highlight the value of quality and
productivity in personal and professional life. We also
need education reform so that these topics are taught to
young students at a young age. The introduction of digital
technology is vital in order to improve the efficiency
of organisations, particularly in the public sector. This
is already being done, but there is considerable scope
for more digitalization, so this is a matter that the
government should investigate.
I also believe that professional development and lifelong
learning are important in fostering quality improvement
and productivity enhancement. Leaders must be
encouraged to set an example by demonstrating their
commitment to quality and productivity. Performance
incentives, highlighting success stories and regular
learning opportunities can also help create a workplace
culture that prioritizes excellence, efficiency and
innovation.
