Initiatives like sustainable agriculture, eco-
friendly resorts, and green city planning could
strengthen not just the tourism sector but also
drive innovation in real estate. With strategic
investments and a focus on sustainability, Sri
Lanka could become a global leader in merging
conservation with economic progress.
Q9 What do you think you can give back to the
university and your fellow students here?
I hope that I’ve been able to contribute
fresh perspectives through the exchange of
ideas. In particular, discussions about my
experiences in sustainable construction, real
estate development, and facility management
have hopefully helped bridge the gap between
methodologies used in my home country and
those practiced locally.
As a student and visitor in Sri Lanka, as
Q10
well as an architect in Switzerland, how do
you perceive the quality of education, the
people, architecture, and the overall real
estate sector in Sri Lanka?
As I read about Sri Lanka, it often referred
to as the ‘Pearl of the Indian Ocean,’ is a country
rich in cultural heritage, natural beauty, and
a growing economy. As a visitor and student,
particularly one with a professional background
as an architect in Switzerland, Sri Lanka presents
a unique blend of traditional and modern
influences.
